Part sculpture and part light, the Walden 10.75" Wall Sconce by Hudson Valley Lighting is a gradient brass wall sconce built from two plain shapes. A semi-circle of brass sits above a thick slab of pressed, ridged piastra glass in a clear optic finish, and the light source tucked between them sends a warm glow through the ribbing. The gradient brass finish shifts subtly in tone across the metal, giving the flat surface depth. It is a transitional piece that reads almost like wall art when switched off.
Walden projects only 2.25 inches, so it is ADA compliant and suits narrow hallways, stair landings, and the space beside a bathroom mirror where a deeper fixture would get in the way. It measures 10.75 inches square and is damp rated. Its 9 watt light source is dimmable with ELV, TRIAC, and 0-10 volt controls. Mount a pair of these gradient brass wall sconces flanking a fireplace for a quiet, gallery-like effect.
