Pleated silk is the star of the Sunside 5-Light Chandelier by Hudson Valley Lighting, a silk shade chandelier that plays with light and shadow. The sheer shade is gathered tightly at the top, creating deeper shadow there, and it brightens gradually as the pleats open toward the bottom. Beneath the fabric, an aged brass frame is wrapped in brown leather, adding warmth and a tactile, natural finish. The contemporary form is soft and sculptural, a quieter alternative to an arm chandelier with exposed bulbs.

Sunside measures 34 inches wide by 28.75 inches tall, a scale suited to a dining room, a bedroom, or a living area that needs gentle, diffused overhead light. Overall height adjusts from 32.25 to 86.25 inches. It uses five 10 watt E12 B11 candelabra bulbs. This silk shade chandelier is damp rated, and the pleated fabric hides the bulbs completely, so it reads beautifully from below as well as from across the room. Try it above a round table or a soaking tub.
