Japandi design, with its blend of Japanese restraint and Scandinavian warmth, inspired the Saranac Wall Sconce by Hudson Valley Lighting. This woven string shade wall sconce features a swooping arm that carries an angular, lantern-style shade wrapped twice by hand in cotton string. The weave stays open enough to reveal both the frame and the bulb inside, so light filters through in a soft, textured glow. Metalwork in aged brass with old bronze accents frames the shade, adding warmth and a slightly rustic note to this organic, handcrafted fixture.
The sconce is 9 inches wide and 12.25 inches tall, extending 10.25 inches from the wall, which lets the shade float out over a reading chair or bedside table. It also works in a hallway or beside a mudroom bench where texture is welcome. It uses one 60-watt E26 medium bulb and is damp rated. A woven string shade wall sconce like Saranac brings craft and softness to any wall that needs warmth.
