Drawn from the night sky, the Rochford Wall Sconce by Hudson Valley Lighting is a globe wall sconce built around one generous orb held out on a slim steel backplate. The sphere is split in two: its lower half wears the metal finish, while the upper half is glass with a clear etched treatment that catches and softens the light. Choose Polished Nickel for a bright, mirrored look or Aged Brass for a warmer, mellow tone. The result reads as a compact planet hovering against the wall, modern in line yet gentle in the glow it gives off.
Mount a pair of these globe wall sconces on either side of a bathroom mirror, where the damp rating allows use near the vanity, or let one mark a stair landing or entry. Each fixture measures 6 inches wide, 7.5 inches high and extends 7.25 inches from the wall. Light comes from a 5 watt integrated LED, so there are no bulbs to replace. It is a hardwired fixture, intended for a junction box rather than a plug.
