Geometry is the whole idea behind the Piton Table Lamp by Hudson Valley Lighting, a brass table lamp that stacks simple shapes into something playful. A soft white sphere sits on a rectangular aged brass base, and a slanted brass arm holds a conical metal shade set at a matching angle. The shade is black on the outside to echo the ball, with aged brass inside to pick up the arm, so the colors trade places as you walk around it. The steel construction keeps the contemporary lines sharp.
At 21.5 inches tall and 6 inches wide, Piton is compact enough for a writing desk, a narrow console in an entry, or a nightstand where space is tight. It takes one 60 watt E26 A19 bulb and comes with an 8 foot SPT cord and a dimmer on the fixture for easy adjustment. This brass table lamp is dry rated for indoor use and makes a sculptural accent on a bookshelf as well.
