Traditional elements are reworked through scale in the Paramus Wall Sconce by Hudson Valley Lighting. This bronze wall sconce uses an elongated arm that rises upward to support a candle sleeve topped with a white linen drum shade. The stretched proportions give the familiar arm-and-shade formula a contemporary edge. Here it is finished in Aged Old Bronze, a deep, mellow tone that frames the bright linen shade. The sconce is part of a family that also includes chandeliers, so it can coordinate with a matching fixture overhead.

Mount this bronze wall sconce beside a sofa, in pairs on either side of a fireplace or as reading light next to a bed. It projects 8.5 inches from the wall and measures 7 inches wide by 14.5 inches tall. A single 8 watt E12 candelabra bulb is used. The fixture is hardwired with no dimmer specified and is damp rated, which also makes a covered porch possible.
