Layered glass is the whole idea behind the Mackay 7.75" Wall Sconce by Hudson Valley Lighting, a cast glass wall sconce with a bold, graphic presence. An opal matte globe is set inside a thick block of clear cast glass, and both are mounted to a smooth steel backplate. The play of square and circle, frosted and clear, lends simple geometry a jewel-like depth. Choose Aged Brass for a warm frame around the glass or Polished Nickel for a brighter, cooler look. It can also be installed on the ceiling as a flush mount.
This cast glass wall sconce measures 7.75 inches wide and extends just 4.5 inches, making it a tidy fit for a long hallway, a stairwell, or flanking a bathroom mirror, where its damp rating comes in handy. Installed on a ceiling, it works in a closet or small entry. It uses one 4 watt G9 wedgebase LED bulb, a low-energy source that suits lighting left on through the evening.
