Depth is the constraint that rules out most console tables in a hallway, since anything approaching sixteen or eighteen inches turns a walkway into a squeeze. The Vauban runs 11.81 inches, which leaves a passage clear while still offering a genuine surface for a lamp, keys and post.

Washed oak veneer over MDF gives the pale, open-grained surface, with brushed brass in stainless steel supplying a cool metallic line rather than a warm one. It arrives fully assembled and is tested to Prop 65 and the USA lead standard.
