Buying three coffee tables at once solves a problem one large table cannot: a single surface has one height, and a group has several.

That three-inch difference in height is what makes the arrangement work, because the lower pieces slide alongside or in front of the larger one without their tops colliding. The group can be pulled apart when a room is full and pushed back together when it is empty.

All three are finished in light brown mappa burl veneer with antique brass, and burl earns its cost here because the figure never repeats: it comes from a growth deformity rather than straight trunk timber, so the swirling pattern differs across every surface in the set.
