Just under seven feet tall and only seventeen inches deep, this cabinet takes its storage upward rather than outward. That proportion is the whole argument for it. In a room where floor area is the scarce resource, height costs nothing, and the Quinton stacks three fixed shelves spaced 15.75 inches apart above two pull-to-open soft-close drawers. The spacing is worth noting: it accommodates most books upright with room left over for objects placed on top of them, which a tighter interval would not allow. Light brown mappa burl veneer covers the exterior over MDF, plywood and oak, with brass in an antique finish on the hardware. Scale changes how the burl reads here: across 82.68 inches of vertical face the swirling figure becomes the dominant feature of the wall it stands against rather than an accent within it.
