Its handmade glass panes are encased in an antique brass finish, arranged across two concentric rings measuring 47.44 and 36.02 inches in diameter. Handmade glass carries slight variations in thickness that machine-drawn glass does not, so each pane refracts light a little differently and the whole fixture sparkles unevenly rather than uniformly, which is what keeps a piece this large from looking mechanical. An iron and brass structure carries the assembly.
