Fifteen percent recycled real leather woven into the cloth - not a leather look, actual leather fibre reclaimed and spun back in. That is an unusual specification and it does something specific to the hand of the fabric. Leather fibre gives a slight density and a subtly irregular surface that pure polyester weaves lack, so mayer silver reads as a substantial cloth rather than a smooth one. It also puts material back into use that would otherwise be waste from leather production. Grey piping traces the seams in a second tone, keeping the shape of the seat and back legible rather than letting it blur into one field. Note the tearing strength: greater than 50 Newton, below the 64 Newton typical elsewhere in the range, which is a consequence of the leather content. Rated at 65,000 Martindale rubs on polypropylene foam over a hollow steel frame.
