Both stools in this set swivel 180 degrees and return to centre on their own.

Auto-return is what separates a swivel stool that stays tidy from one that does not. Left to spin freely, a row of bar stools ends up pointing in several directions within a day; a sprung mechanism squares each one up the moment its occupant stands. In an open kitchen where the stools are visible from the whole ground floor, that is worth more than it sounds.

The cloth is 85% polyester with 15% recycled real leather - genuine leather fibre reclaimed and spun back into the weave, which gives it a density and slight irregularity a pure synthetic lacks. Grey piping traces the seams. Rated at 65,000 Martindale rubs, with tearing strength above 50 Newton, somewhat below the range norm. Bar height gives a 30.91 inch seat with an 18.11 inch depth, on hollow steel with polypropylene foam. Sold as a pair, CAL-117 compliant, assembly required.
