The weave here is polyethylene, not rattan - and outdoors that is the better material by a clear margin.

Natural rattan is a palm fibre. Left outside it absorbs water, swells, splits and eventually goes grey and brittle, which is why genuine rattan furniture belongs on a covered porch at best. Woven polyethylene reproduces the texture and the handwork while being immune to water entirely, and it can be made in a colour throughout rather than stained on the surface, so a scuff does not show pale underneath.

Underneath it, aluminium and teak carry the load: aluminium because it does not rust, teak because its natural oils resist rot. The cushions are 100% Olefin, solution-dyed so the colour cannot bleach out, rated at 29,000 Martindale rubs, with both seat and back covers removable.
