Burl is among the most prized decorative timbers there is, and using it on a picture frame is a deliberate luxury.

Mappa burl comes from the growth deformity of the tree rather than its trunk, which is why the figuring swirls and knots instead of running in straight grain. No two sheets are alike, so the pattern across your frame is unrepeatable, and the light brown tone carries genuine warmth that a painted or metal frame cannot approach. Because burl is too unstable to use in solid form, it is cut as veneer and laid over an MDF core, which is what allows a frame this slim to stay flat over years.

Pair it with the smaller Braga S for a graduated arrangement, or group several along a console where the swirling figuring can be read across them all.
