Taking the Beale silhouette outdoors meant changing everything except the shape, and the substitutions are what make it work.

Mindi wood gives way to solid teak, chosen for the natural oils that let it weather without treatment and grey to silver rather than degrade. The polyester upholstery is replaced with 100% Olefin, a fibre that resists moisture absorption and is rated to a colour fastness to light of 5 out of 5, the top of the scale, so a pale flores off-white cushion can live outside without bleaching. The result is a dining chair with the proportions of an indoor piece and the constitution of outdoor furniture.

Rated for indoor use as well, it can move into a garden room when the season turns.
