Hard and soft design language meet in the Douglaston Wall Sconce by Hudson Valley Lighting, a clever swing arm wall sconce with a practical purpose. Sleek aged brass metalwork forms the arm and backplate, and the graceful sweep of the arm finds a counterpoint in the draped curve of the shade. That shade is aluminum in a Soft Sand finish, a muted, warm neutral that keeps the look calm. The design is engineered to direct light downward, making it as useful as it is good-looking. It is a contemporary piece with a gentle, tailored feel.

This swing arm wall sconce is ideal as a reading light beside a bed or a lounge chair, or as task light over a desk. Its arm extends up to 28.75 inches from the wall, and the fixture is 4.75 inches wide and 9.75 inches tall. It takes one 15-watt E26 medium base bulb and has an on/off switch. The sconce is damp rated.
