Waxed bamboo gives the Dalfern 53" Cordless Reading Floor Lamp its warmth, and natural brass gives it its edge. Ralph Lauren pairs a slim bamboo stem with a brass reading shade that throws light down and forward, a quiet, slightly colonial shape that suits a room with old wood in it. A rechargeable LED with a touch dimmer runs the whole thing.

Pull it up to a reading chair in a sunroom or a sitting room, then move it when the seating moves, since there is no cord to plan around. It is a natural at the end of a daybed, on a screened porch after dark, or beside a desk in a small home office where floor outlets are scarce.
