Dakota 1-Light Table Lamp is built around a ceramic urn with a full, boldly curving profile in a deep brown glaze, topped with a crisp white fabric shade. The fabric holds the light low and wide, which is what a reading chair needs: bright on the page, not in the eye. Metal, ceramic and fabric, plainly combined.

At 29.13 inches tall and 19 inches wide, it has enough presence for a console, a sideboard or a bedside table with room to spare, and a pair reads well at either end of a long surface. One standard E26 bulb takes up to 100 watts, so the lamp can genuinely light a corner on its own.
