Loosely botanical, the Avon Table Lamp by Hudson Valley Lighting is a brass torchiere lamp made in India that recalls a slender calla lily in bloom. Its elongated steel silhouette is finished in Old World Brass, and a single bulb is tucked inside the tubular form to cast light upward, washing the wall and ceiling. There is no shade, so the sculptural outline is always on view. Part artwork and part light source, Avon makes an artistic statement in a contemporary room wherever it is placed.
Although listed as a table lamp, Avon stands 69.5 inches tall and 14.25 inches wide, so it reads like a floor-standing torchiere in a living room corner, beside a sofa, or in an entry. It uses one 25 watt E26 R30 LED bulb, and a full range dimmer adjusts the glow. This brass torchiere lamp is dry rated for indoor use and suits rooms where indirect, ambient light is preferred.
