Texture leads the way on the Averack Plug-In Wall Sconce by Hudson Valley Lighting, an aged brass wall sconce that pairs a sweeping J-shaped arm with a conical rattan shade. The weave is tight and even, a detail that calls to mind the discipline of Japanese basket making, and the vintage natural wicker tone softens the warm metal beautifully. Its steel frame carries a contemporary profile with a hint of drama in the long curve. Because each woven shade is made from a natural material, slight differences in color and pattern from one piece to the next are part of its character.
Since it plugs in, Averack can go where hardwiring is impractical: beside a bed in a rental, over a reading chair, or above a desk in a home office. The adjustable arm reaches 26.25 inches from the wall, and the fixture stands 16.25 inches tall and 5.75 inches wide. It takes one 15 watt E26 A19 bulb, includes a full range dimmer, and is damp rated, so a covered porch is fair game for this aged brass wall sconce too.
