The Asken Freeform Wall Art is made of irregular pieces of wood that have been artistically placed by hand in an asymmetrical pattern. Providing the sculptural piece with added interest are the cut-outs, or negative spaces, in a number of the wood blocks. This piece of freeform wall art was created with painstaking precision that only the most talented craftspeople can achieve. Also bringing the piece a feel of authenticity is the fact that the wood is reclaimed so the natural characteristics of the materias life before becoming art adds tremendous patina. We offer the Asken as several different wall art styles and as a wall tile. Each of these pieces reflects the ethos that Phillips Collection personifies: modern organic.

Natural & Handcrafted Variations: Phillips Collection pieces are crafted from natural and often one-of-a-kind materials, including wood, stone, metal, and hand-woven materials. Variations in color, texture, grain, shape, size, and finish are inherent to these materials and the handcrafted process. Wood may include knots, gouges, small cracks, nail holes, and other natural characteristics, while handcrafted metal may show welding marks. Upholstered pieces may have minor imperfections due to their hand-woven construction. Antique and one-of-a-kind pieces may vary significantly in appearance and dimensions. These natural and handcrafted variations are not considered damage or defects and are not grounds for return.
