Scalamandre Zebra Planter

The Scalamandre zebra quatrefoil planter is for all of us design adventurers. Featuring the iconic blue denim "zebras" Scalamandre pattern, the porcelain centerpiece planter is shaped to hold four 6" diameter plant containers. Perfect with a spray of white orchids or assorted green plants, this container is accented with dark pewter finished metal feet. When using as a possible wine bucket for entertaining you can simply line the bottom with a towel or bubble wrap for protection, then add ice. Originally designed in the 1940's for the Gino of Capri restaurant, lovingly know as "Ginos" by New Yorkers, Flora Scalamandre, wife of Franco, free handed the signature motif that would come to be known as the iconic Scalamandre zebras. The pattern is celebrated the world over in design & in the movies - it was featured in the "Royal Tannebaums" & "Mightly Aphrodite".
